JOB PURPOSE |
A Clinical Officer is responsible for providing quality patient care and medical services. They work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to diagnose and treat patients, as well as provide advice and support to patients and their families.
RESPONSIBILITIES |
Assessing and diagnosing patients, as well as developing and implementing treatment plans.
Monitoring and managing patient care, including administering medications and providing follow-up care.
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and therapists, to ensure holistic patient care.
Maintaining accurate and complete patient records, including progress notes and treatment plans.
Maintaining and improving the quality of healthcare services by participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Promoting patient education and health awareness by providing information and education resources to patients.
Supervising and training other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, aides, and technicians.
Performing research on diseases, treatments, and other healthcare-related topics and writing articles.
Speaking and presenting at conferences and other events.
Adhere to ethical standards and healthcare regulations, with a focus on providing safe and effective care for maternal and fetal health.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS |
A Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health.
A license or certification from Allied Health Professionals Council.
3 years’ work experience in according Obstetric, Gynaecological and Paediatric care to patients.
SKILLS |
Good clinical skills.
Required to be team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment, displaying resilience, compassion and diplomacy.
Good analytical skills.
Adaptability
Ability to work under minimum supervision.
