At Clinison Medical Centre, we care about your health and your vision.
Your eyes are your window to the world, and keeping them healthy is one of the most
important things you can do for yourself and your family.
On 27th September 2025, we launched our eye screening campaign at our facility
in Owalei, Opuyo, Soroti City, under the theme “Protect Your Sight, Test
Regularly.”
Our goal is simple but ambitious: to screen 10,000 people by 2030, helping our
community prevent avoidable vision problems and catch eye conditions early -
before they affect your daily life.
Why this matters
Many people only seek eye care when they start experiencing problems - but by
then, it may be too late.
Dr. Jane Agwaru, our CEO, reminds us that early detection saves sight, prevents
serious complications, and can even save lives.
She also shared how we are working with local transport companies to screen
drivers’ vision, because clear sight on the road keeps everyone safe.
Full eye examinations, including visual field tests, are available for drivers from
Kakise, YY Bus Companies, and other transport providers operating on the Soroti
route.
A community effort
Dr. Alfred Anyonga, Soroti City Health Officer, praised Clinison for our
commitment to healthcare and accurate reporting, which helps the Ministry of
Health plan better support.
He reminded everyone that Clinison is more than an eye clinic: we also provide
maternity services, antenatal care, and child vaccinations.
Thanks to our collaboration with the government, babies born at Clinison can now receive immunizations free of charge.
Jimmy Julius Mubiri, our COO, shared that this campaign is as much about
education as it is about screening.
We want everyone in the community to understand the importance of checking
your eyes regularly, even when you feel healthy.
Ekodeu Emmanuel, Soroti District Health Inspector, welcomed the initiative,
noting that many residents previously had to travel far, sometimes as far as
Tororo, for eye care.
He called it a major step forward for the Teso region and encouraged everyone to
embrace the services while promoting science and health education for the
future.
What this means for you
This campaign is about you, your family, and your community. It’s about helping
you see clearly today and protecting your sight for the years to come.
Regular eye checks can save your vision, improve your quality of life, and even
prevent accidents.
Come and join us at Clinison Medical Centre - protect your sight, test regularly,
and take charge of your eye health.
